That's what happens when work gets interrupted ... 

I think the intent was to show a hypothetical case to illustrate 
plugins in general, then a real case .. but that didn't get 
done.

I edited the wiki page to start right out with a real FUNCTION 
base class.  Try it now.  Hopefully it makes more sense now.
