Its been a very long time since I've heard anyone ask a question about
Windows ME that didn't sound something like "How do I get rid of this
piece of junk?"

Anyway, IIRC WinME boots just like its predecessors 95 and 98 so it
should be possible for grub to handle it.

That being said, it is always possible that MS did something
non-standard with ME and os-prober does not understand something.

Try using strace or some other process watcher/debugger and have it
report what os-prober is looking for and what it is and is not
finding.  You might be able to see the problem yourself this way.

As to fixing it, that may be a bug report in os-prober and it may be
something that you can do.

first step is to find out what is wrong exactly.
