Well, the image in MBR is not normal GRUB; it apparently has some
trusted grub patches, but it also is not trustedgrub2 that is part of
Leap 42.2 (nor does it match upstream code). If I add signature for this
core.img BIS parses it just fine

 => Grub2 (v2.00) is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb and looks at
sector 1 of
    the same hard drive for core.img. core.img is at this location and
looks
    for (mduuid/1d3df1d5189c70b83a43e088ccb62a72)/grub2. It also embeds
    following components:

    modules

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    fshelp ext2 part_msdos diskfilter mdraid1x biosdisk

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where have you got this grub from? Again - it is not from openSUSE Leap
42.2 and grub.cfg did not look like created by openSUSE Leap grub2 either.
