great.  I'd like to take the time and add these features to GNU
make, if the changes can be merged back to the main branch.  To
make this possible and prevent problems with the change i have some
additional questions:

1. I plan to do changes based on 3.81 beta 4, is that ok?

2. I plan to add two command line options for two file names
(one for the internal database output, one for the additional
debug informations).  Is that ok?  What letters/names for the
command line options are preferred?
