help: convert nmake to gnu make

Hi,

I am a software developer, currently wroking on converting Lucent make to gnu make.

Lucent make is divided into several ".mk" files. I want to know how do i start the conversion, and know if i am going on right path.

I would be very thankful if i get some help regarding this.
