Looks like support for this system wasn't available in autoconf when
version 3.82 of GNU make was released, back in 2010.

release of GNU make (4.1): http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/make/make-4.1.tar.gz
If you really want to use 3.82, then you'll have to install the latest
autoconf and automake on your system (to get support for this new
platform) and rebuild "configure" etc. in GNU make to use these new
versions.
