| What is the appropriate list for discussion of new features for
| octave? Neither octave-sources or bug-octave seem very active,
| are they the lists intended for for development discussion?

The bug-octave list can be used to start discussions about new
features as well as report bugs, but there are two other lists for
people who want to be more involved in Octave's development:
octave-testers, for people who want to receive announcements about
test releases, and octave-maintainers, for people who are more
interested in doing development work. Both of these lists are managed
by SmartList on bevo.che.wisc.edu, so you can subscribe by sending a
message with just `subscribe' in the body to
address@hidden

The octave-sources list is just for posting sources that you want to
contribute, not for general discussion.

Thanks,
