I am experiencing a similar problem to what others have described under
windows 2000 professional. If I click on the octave icon a dos window
flashes a one-liner too fast to read. If I run the octave.bat file from
a command window I get an error (verbatim)
start: start: No such file or directory
Typing 'start' from the command line does open a new window as it should
(start does exist), but for some reason the batch file blows up.
Windows 98 works just fine.
