For an odd number of samples. Otherwise it's [-fc, fc - 1(N*Dt)].
The documentation for fftshift says otherwise, however.

The documentation is wrong. This was reported, but I guess it hasn't
been fixed. Search the mailing lists for "fftshift help in octave
2.1.35, incorrect?" in April of 2002.
The function works fine, it's only a documentation problem.
