help for system identification

Hi


I read a few weeks ago that when considering system identification of transfer 
functions like ARMA, ARMAX... we should consider switching to R package.


I would like to stay in Octave and have a minimalist set of functions to do 
that. I am ready to program some of them. My preferred is Matlab function oe.


Any advice ?
