Image support under windows

I have GNU Octave, version 2.1.50 working under Windows98.
After small modification of image.m I can now display images in iexplore or
IrfanView.

In both cases, however, the Octave prompt only comes back after closing the
plotting window.
Hence, if I have an iterative calculation, which shows an image at each
step, I have to close manually the image window after each iteration, which
is undesirable (and different from the way matlab operates).

Any solution?

Kind regards,

Rinke Wijngaarden
