In unix version I don't have textread.m, interp2.m etc
whereas these functions are available in windows version.
Are they packaged differently ?
Right now I just copied required .m files from windows version to unix
version and there is no problem.

Those functions are part of octave-forge, you can get them (and all the others which you will find to be missing) from:
