Err and comms.texi ??? In any case the comms.txi file seems to be the right
size.
You note that comms.texi might be removed as an intermediate file with some
versions of "make". and so you might need to do a "make comms.texi" in the
main/comm/doc directory to get a copy of it.

comms.texi is built from comms.txi and so this means that neither comms.info
or comms.ps can be built if you do this.
I thought there was a stale comms.texi in place that was causing the problems.
Note the extension ".texi" and not ".txi"....
