implementing formula

Hello list,

I need to implement a certain formula in Matlab/Octave, but it's quite
important that it's being done as efficiently as possible.

The formula, together with the (Matlab (*)) implementation i currently have, is
located at:

http://forsythe.dyns.be:9090/~mc303/formula.ps

Especially the double sum, combined with the product and the fact that
in a certain case i need values for every N, keeps boggling my mind...

How can I improve on this code and keep it Octave compatible?
Or does somebody have totally different (but better) suggestions for the
implementation?

Thanks,
Bart

(*) the compatibility got broken because of some of my experiments ;-)
