Northwestern University researchers:
I've come across your paper:
''Handling Context-Sensitive Syntactic Issues in the Design of a
Front-end for a MATLAB Compiler,'' APL Quote Quad, vol. 31, number 3,
pp. 27--40, Mar. 2001
In the introduction you claim that the proprietary nature of MATLAB
adds an extra layer of complexity in designing the compiler front-end.
I was wondering if you have considered applying your talents to GNU
Octave and contributing to this community. It seems the openness of GNU
Octave would make it a better research project than MATLAB.
The paper does say that this work started in GNU Octave but the focus of
the paper is MATLAB specific.
Best regards,
Steve
