Unfortunaly I don't know. Gedit uses mimetypes to determine which syntax
highlighter to use, but I don't think Octave sources have a mimetype.
But if anybody knows the mimetype of Octave source files, I'll be happy
to fix the syntax highligt file for Gedit.
I notice that the highlighting cannot distinguish between a transpose
and an unterminated string. That sounds like a hard problem.
I hadn't noticed that, so I'll look into it, but I think you're right -
it sounds like a hard problem :-)
