This looks like a promising explanation, which may result in a fix soon.

Gerrit Haase (cygwin gcc maintainer) has submitted a bug report to the gcc
project.  I hope he will also develop a patch to fix it soon.


Octave is freely available under the terms of the GNU GPL.
