FW: no fortran compiler found.

Matt,

It sounds like your gfortran is installed where configure is not searching.
What type of machine do you have? What OS? If gfortran is in /usr/local/bin,
have you added that to your path? Also, be advised that the configure line
should include --enable-shared --disable-static.
