Compiling 2.9.12 with SuiteSparse 3.0

Hi, 

I'm currently trying to compile 2.9.12 with suitesparse 3.0 (Debian package). 
However, the build fails pretty early and I don't know whom to blame ;)

So, is anybody on the list using 2.9.12 with the above suitesparse release?

The error messages are (full logs attached):

        error: template with C linkage
(about a hundred times or so).
