Hi,
A partial answer.
RPM,DEB and TGZ are formats used in various linux distributions to package
software. You certainly do not need all of them. The real question is if
any of them is useful with your operating system. So, please mention what
operating system (MS Windows, MacOS, a flavor of linux or BSD etc) and version
you are using.
Cheers, Avraham
