Problems with jhandles on Windows |

Hi:
I haven't found an answer to this problem in the archives, I'm hoping that
someone can help me. I've installed Octave 3.0.0 on both a Dell laptop
running WinXP and my Gateway desktop running Vista SP1. I chose all default
options on installation, with jhandles as the graphics backend. On both
machines, any attempt to plot generates a whole series of jhandles errors,
starting with "error: 'java_convert_matrix' undefined near line 52 column
10". In all there are 28 error messages spawned. Last night, I reinstalled
Octave on my desktop, but selected the GNUplot backend and everything works
fine. Today, I used the "pkg unload jhandles" command (limited system
accessibility) and my laptop plots fine (unless I reload jhandles). Is this
a configuration issue? Or, how do I get jhandles working? My laptop is
running JRE 1.5.07-b03, but my desktop runs 1.6.
Thanks,
Duane
