Thanks for the responses.
I am no expert with ftp, but here is what I get from the command line:
ftp> open ftp.octave.org
ftp: ftp.octave.org: Unknown host
ftp>
ftp>
ftp>
ftp> open www.octave.org
Connected to www.octave.org.
220 DreamHost FTP Server
Name (www.octave.org:elliott): anonymous
331 Password required for anonymous
Password:
530 Login incorrect.
Login failed.
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
ftp>
And when I connect with 'www.octave.org' and 'anonymous' as the USER, a
blank PASS won't allow me to login.
