Fwd: Interleaved Output from a Command File

With Octave 3.0.?,  I used to get interleaved output in 'diary' by putting
the commands
diary on;
echo on;
at the top of a command file.
Now, with Octave 3.2.2, I first get a listing of the command file
and then get all the output.
I have read the documentation and still can't figure out how to
again get interleaved output.
Any help would be appreciated.
