installation error statistics-1.1.0 on octave 3.5.90+

Hi again,

I have upgraded to the latest development version on ubuntu linux on a
macbook pro 6,2. I get the following error below. 

Despite the error, the package is in the list. I'm not sure whether this bug 
report is worth mentioning,
but at least 'doc fstat' does not work (and I need this to know how to test).

Any suggestions?
