I am trying to figure out how to configure the default path using 

addpath

The example is not very specific, so if I want to add \\computer\path\path\path so that when I type the following it works, what should I do?

load "data.mat"

The manuals may well be up-to-date but the information just does not jump out of the manual to my eyes.
