Sorry, I didn't mean that procmail did any locking.  In the case of
Maildir formats, it does no locking.

No, what I meant was that ifile is designed to be used by procmail, and
procmail spawns for every message delivered, so ifile should already be
locking the database when it accesses it.  Otherwise, under normal,
expected use, ifile could be corrupting it's own database.  Thus it
doesn't seem to me like there's too much to worry about with regards to
file locking under this scenario.
