Oh, VERY cool!  THANK YOU!

I've been wanting to do exactly this for the better part of a decade!  :-)

I think one or two variants of what you've posted have been available
for some time; and I did make my own version work, but not in
client/server mode.

The paranoia about tromping on the "rlog" synonym was supposed to have
been tromped out sometime back near version 1.5, so by now there should
even be any dust left from it.
