Hi all,
I am new to CVS.
I have just set up CVS on Solaris 2.6 machine, while logged in as root.
As a root user, i was able to create a repository, and then checkout files
etc.
But when i tried to commit changes back to the CVS repository i got the
message saying :
# cvs -d /usr/local/mycvsrepo commit
cvs [commit aborted]: cannot commit files as 'root'
Next, i logged in as a ordinary user, and tried running cvs. But this time i
get error message :
$cvs
Cannot execute cvs
I have checked cvs binary has execute permission for all.
What could be the problem ?
How are different users treated by CVS ?
Do i have to create a unix users one for each person who will be using cvs ?
thanks
J.
