 import instead of using the vendor tag with :yesterday.

 That will allow CVS to detect deleted (and moved) files and handle them
 appropriately.

Also upgrade your CVS, if you're running an old version.  Both
server and client, of course.  This stuff has definitely gotten
better over time (not sure when the last improvements were made).

I'm using MacCVS (same version as WinCVS) which claims to be 1.11. The server is 1.11 as well.
