"Unrecognized response" error

Hi

I get the following error when I try to check out a module.

' from cvs serverning: unrecognized response `ok

The command I typed is
cvs -d :ext:address@hidden:/users/anandn/Java/cvs_repository checkout
dev

I am trying to do the checkout operation on a windows 2000 machine running
cvs 1.11 and the repository is on a solaris machine.
This used to work well before. I re-installed windows 2000 due to a crash
and so I had to re-install CVS. Does anyone have any idea what this
error is?
