If the only problem were that, then wouldn't be no problem at all.
Regarding the line-end problem it is stayed somewhere on big bold
letters *don't share repos among platforms*.  I for one, work with the
same data on linux and windows, and my home directory is remote-mounted
(NFS on Linux and SMB/CIFS on windows).  The only think I need to take
care of is having different sandboxes for my work on win and linux. 
That's all.

Still, there *might* be a problem because of the very nature of CVS
sandboxes and network connections as have been pointed out regarding
NFS.  The problem is network protocols tending to be sligthly unreliable
plus rcs deltas being short and with low redundancy.  Under these
circumnstances is expectable some errors when moving data from your
sandboxes back and forth the network, which in turn becomes potential
data corruption.
