You can "share" dircetories.

So if all the bits you care about are in a directory, you're all set, you just need to provide a script for your folk to check out the sources.  The script is simply multiple "cvs co" commands with a few "cd's" interspersed !

Subject: CVS Sharing

Greets,

I know that CVS is better at some thing and Visual Source Safe (VSS) is better at other things.  I would like to know if this is one area that CVS can do (VSS can do it): sharing.  In Visual Source Safe, you can share a single file among projects.  When the shared "centralized" file changes, it changes in all the projects.  When the shared file in a project changes, it changes all related files in other projects by updating the centralized copy.

I have a collection of classes in a CVS project that I want to start sharing between projects, but I want to keep them as a physical part of each project.  I know how I could do it in VSS: sharing.  Is there any way I can do it in CVS?  Are there other techniques aside from sharing to give me this same functionality?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Cheers,
Jason
