Folks,
I wanted to find out if there was a way to have the repo automatically
update a webserver with latest versions of the source files. We have
several users currently updating our website, but there is no version
control. I had suggested CVS, but was not certain if this was possible,
or if there were specific pitfalls that prevented this from being a
good solution. What I basically want to have happen is, for example,
user A updates file x.php in the repo. The CVS management software runs
a script that determines that on the website x.php is out of sync, then
ftps with uid and a pass to the remote site, and updates the x.php with
user A changes. This could go wrongly if user A writes broken code,
then updates, but ignoring that scenario, I wanted to find out if this
was possible or if there was a better strategy to this??
Thanks BEA
