I have 2 computers. one is winxp and it has eclipse installed on it and
another one is linux server. both connect to router/swithch to share
internet. I installed ssh on linux (ssh localhost). But I got error
message (connection failed) when I tried to configure eclipse. I
followed these steps
http://icu.sourceforge.net/docs/eclipse_howto/eclipse_howto.html
(see CVS in that page)
but i entered the following
-host:
192.168.1.101
-repository bath: /home/cvs
-user: me
-password: whatever
-connection extssh
why I am getting that error message.... I install Putty on windows too
(ssh client i guss)
Please cut and paste the actual error message. If it
doesn't automatically give you a detailed error message dialog, open
the error log (Help->About Eclipse platform -> Configuration
(button at bottom) -> View Error Log (button at bottom). The
cvs error should be displayed at the bottom of the log.
If you are using eclipse on windows, it might be best to try to access
cvs from the command line before trying to use it from eclipse. I
find it easier to figure out the :ext: line on the command line.
For cvs-ssh access, Putty.exe won't work (Putty is interactive, like
telnet). Use plink.exe. You can get it from the same place
you got putty.
