Dear subscribers
I’m pretty new to CVS but I have used other versioning systems before
like Subversion, SourceSafe etc. As I understand it, CVS treats
folders a bit different from e.g. Subversion where folders are
versioned as well and to make sure I don’t mess things up I have a
question I hope someone can answer for me.
Currently I’ve created a new branch from the trunk to make some
modifications and one of the actions I’ve taken was to create a few
new folders. The question is; what happens to the main trunk and
possible other branches as I check in my new folder? Will they be
affected in any way since CVS doesn’t version the folder structure?
When I eventually merge my branch to the trunk I realize that at least
the trunk will be updated with these new folders, but will it affect
other branches/tags?
Kind regards, Ola Theander
