different behaviour of 'cvs ci'

Hi
After a crash i had to reinstall fedora 8 and now cvs behaves differently.
Previously, when i did a 'cvs ci' after changing files in several
subdirectories,
the editor opened with all changed files in it.
Now (cvs 1.11.22) it opens the editor for every subdirectory.

Is there a way to go back to the "old" behaviour?
