Subject: RELEASED GNU Mailman 2.1.5

I have released version 2.1.5 of Mailman, the GNU Mailing List Manager.
Mailman is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Version
2.1.5 is a bug fix release that also contains new support for the
Turkish language, and a few minor new features. Mailman 2.1.5 is a
significant upgrade which should improve disk i/o performance,
administrative overhead for discarding held spams, and the behavior of
bouncing member disables. This version also contains a fix for an
exploit that could allow 3rd parties to retrieve some member passwords.
It is thus highly recommended that all existing sites upgrade to the
latest version. You should read the UPGRADING file for important
information before you start your upgrade.

See the links below for a detailed list of changes.

Mailman is free software that enables users to manage email mailing
lists and e-newsletters. Its integrated web interface provides
easy-to-use access for list members and list administrators. Mailman
supports built-in archiving, automatic bounce processing, content
filtering, digest delivery, spam filters, and more. Mailman is
compatible with most web servers, web browsers, and mail servers. It
runs on any Unix-like operating system. Mailman 2.1.5 requires Python
2.1.3 or newer, although Python 2.3.3 is recommended. To install
Mailman from source, you will need a C compiler.

For more information on Mailman, including links to file downloads,
please see any of the Mailman mirror web pages:

(Some mirrors may be lagging.)

Source tarballs are available at

There are email lists (managed by Mailman, of course!) for both Mailman
users and developers. See the web sites above for details.
