.newsrc.eld in .emacs.d

For everything I run in Emacs (ERC, Identica-mode.el, Newsticker, et
al.), I like to keep the config, cache, and log files in ~/.emacs.d/.
Sadly, there seems to be no variable to specify the directory for the
.newsrc.eld file (although, there seems to be one for the
.newsrc-dribble file). Am I just missing it, or does there really exist
no such option? (I am using Gnus v5.13.)
