[Koha-win32] (no subject)

ok, ever-patient list readers:  here i am, ready and excited to use koha
-- but since i am not  the person who installed it, (but am ultimately the
person responsible for it) i'm finding myself w/ what feels like a big
learning curve ahead of me in my quest to actually be the systems
administrator for our (soon-to-be) catalog.  

so my first question is quite general, and will really show you from where
i am starting:  i see all these questions posted to the list about command
line "stuff" and don't know what to make of them.  
(i know:  "yikes!")  
how do you recommend i can become more familiar with "the dark side" of
koha?  (the command line stuff -- far away from the reassuring gui
interface)

then, a more basic, specific question:  in setting up the stop words (in
parameters) and just looking at mark links, there is a note asking the
administrator (again:  yikes!  that's me!) to "run misc/rebuildonmarc.pl
script"  
geez!  i don't even know where to start!  is that something i'd do through
mySQL?  can someone tell me how to do this?

i'm grateful for any tips that come my way.  (and please send to me, not
the list,)
