I can't remember where I've seen this info. It was most certainly on a
L4/x86 ABI spec, but I don't remember which one. Anyway, this was not a
basic restriction. The fields layout of the descriptors/identifiers in
this particular case had enough room to accomodate a few bits more for
the thread-id and task-id, so that 128thread/256 tasks were also possible.

I'll let you know if I find the special implementation with the 64/128
restriction.
