They have no way to disallow it: Even if you assign your copyright to
the FSF, you still retain your right to relicense it under whatever
way you want, including BSD and/or proprietary.

Of course the FSF itself will _usually_ only publish it under GPL,
LGPL or GFDL, or one of those plus special exceptions (like the
autoconf stuff).

There is an on-going dispute in our community if it should be "freedom
of" or "freedom from".  We struggle with the words, and meaning of
words.  But I think that's really secondary.  Frankly, I have no idea
where this discussion is going or even what is being discussed.  It
may be a good idea for you to take it to private mail, as it certainly
has nothing to do anymore with this project.

There is also gnu.discuss and other forums where this topic is
somewhat relevant.
