In my mental model, the commit message is part (the final,
hand-off, part) of the commit, and so refining the commit
message is refining the series.  In any case, my comments
will be limited to the commit message, but i hope others will
chime in as they see fit.  (In fact, my secret selfish hope
is that i will learn more about LibreDWG design/impl reading
the critiques of others, than by browsing the code base by
myself.  Yet another two-birds-with-one-stone gambit... :-D)
