the Makefiles regenerated themselves using automake-1.9a for the main
tree, and automake-1.8c for the test dirs, and continued on to generate
a working dist :-D

To more 50 minute bootstraps required.

Does this mean that potential libtool maintainers must provide evidence of a substantial bank account, have a substantial line of credit, or prove that they own a super-computer, prior to being approved as a maintainer? It seems that without at least a 3.6 GHz CPU you are sunk! :-)
