I have a libtool patch for kde that I think should be committed. I'm
relatively sure that it has already been done in the latest libtool,
but the kde people suggested I send it to you guys first to see if it
really is or not. I'm not clever enough to find a version number to
compare in libtool.m4.in ... Anyway, here's the patch:

John, you don't need to do this. The kde-libtool patch is a hack to
work around libtool not understanding frameworks, and not a real fix
(hence why it's not sent upstream to libtool). Peter O'Gorman is
working on a real solution but it's not ready yet.
Also, sending tarballs pretty much guarantees the libtool folks won't
accept it. You want patches, with changelogs. <grin>

We put a lot of thought into our defaults. We like them. If we
didn't, we would have made something else be the default. So keep
your cotton-pickin' hands off our defaults. Don't touch. Consider
them mandatory. "Mandatory defaults" has a nice ring to it.
