line breaking during note playing

In the changelog to 1.3.106, we had:

I think this works fine in 1.4, but doesn't seem to be working in
current 1.5.  The attached file breaks (with a suitable linesize)
where I have the \noBreak command (even when I have the \noBreak
command, another problem).
