Did you try what happens if you don't run the lexer hack? On a well
behaved, stable distribution, ./autogen.sh; make; should just work.
If not, that's a bug.
Remember that this lexer-gcc-3.1 script is only there as an *extra
hack* to help out if the distribution makes a mistake, or if you
upgrade your compiler without also upgrading flex.
In short, if it doesn't work, please file a bug report with Mandrake's
flex.
