I made some typos; it should be

c8[ c16[ c] c[ c]] c8[ c16[ c] c[ c]] c8[ c] c[ c]

|     |   |   |   |   |     |   |   |   |   |    |    |    |
|     |   |   |   |   |     |   |   |   |   |    |    |    |

`[' and `]' simply start and end a new level of beams.

Your example would be

c64[[[[ c] c[ c]] c[[ c] c[ ]]]]
