Ok, then that is the bug, the fix is in the wrong place.  I'll have a
look, thanks for the report.

Hmm, that's strange.  I can't seem to find where
local_lilypond_datadir would get the DESTDIR prefix, unless it would
be from $prefix.  You wouldn't be specifying them both, like

    make install prefix=../fake-i386/usr/ports  DESTDIR=../fake-i136/usr/ports

that won't work.
