Oh, yeah, certainly.  

I'm not looking for space-cheap for this; I'm making documents for
publication and it's just fine if the PDF I give the printer is
stunningly huge.

Though since EPS is nonlossy and openoffice.org supports that too, I
suppose I should do that!
