No, I plan to let Han-Wen handle this. :)
With git, this is very easily done by "cherry-picking" the concerned commits (with Cogito, the command is 'cg patch -C <commit-checksum>'). If you agree and if you don't want to bother with this, I volunteer to do it (as I already do this with the French docs, that won't bother me).
Sure! I only concern myself with the development versions (a combination of still being git-shy and also because it's easy for users to read the unstable docs), but if you want to backport things, great. At the moment the entire manual could be backported, but eventually the unstable manual will have some features that aren't in the stable version.
2) Since LilyPond now warns about every input file without \version, I propose to move docs about \version from "Commenting input files" to "First steps" just after the first example. May I push directly or send a patch first?
Go ahead and do it directly; I'll check the git RSS and make any changes later if necessary.
